Hello and welcome to the chronicles of the life and times of the one and only Kurt Elizabeth Hummel. If you don't know me then, while I am mildly concerned with your obsessive internet stalking ways, I still welcome you to a very important turning point in my life nonetheless. You are looking at the blog of both a William McKinley High School graduate and a student of the class of 2016 at NYADA in the one and only New York City. You'll see this name up in lights one day relatively soon, whether it be up on the Broadway stage or in the labels of your latest fashion emblems. This is to all of the ignorant disbelievers I've dealt with in the past four years at McKinley that have tried to put a stop in my path; I've proved you all wrong and I hope you enjoy flipping burgers for the remainder of your lives.

I have until August 31st and then New York City will finally be my home and while I've waited for this moment all of my life.. I cannot believe it's really here and actually happening. How's that for an obscure gay teenager in the middle of nowheresville Ohio? Of course, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for two.. extremely important men in my life. First, my dad. He's going to change the world as we know it through Congress and I could not be any more proud of him. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for his undying love and support, so I have him to thank for just about everything.

Secondly, I owe a large thank you to my best friend, the love of my life, and my soul mate, Blaine Anderson. He's made the largest and best possible impact on my life since we started dating on March 15th, 2011, and even before then. I'd be lost if it weren't for his support and love and despite all of the obstacles we've had to overcome together, we're still together and going strong and above all, incredibly happy. I look forward to the day he joins me in New York but until then, constant Skype dates and phone calls throughout the school year will need to suffice.. (and as a heads up to any possible gays lurking around McKinley still, I am not entirely opposed to taking a plane back to Ohio if anyone flirts with my man while I'm away). Of course, before I go anywhere, I still have the entire summer to enjoy and I intend on spending as much of it as physically possible with my amazing boyfriend.

While being gay has been a core factor that has defined me throughout highschool, it's certainly not all of who I am. I am a Broadway enthusiast, and a fashion lover, and as such I've received two copies of Vogue every month for as long as I can remember. Lady Gaga is my idol and I will always be devoted to her fabulous and extensive talents. I have a long road ahead of me and facing NYADA in the fall will just be the beginning of it, but one day I hope to become as unforgettable as my three greatest idols; Lady Gaga, the late Alexander McQueen (may his fashionable soul rest in peace), and Judy Garland. I will be leaving my mark on this world in one way or the other.
